FAQs
Why should I take a Mock Interview?
Technical interviewing seems deceptively easy unless you actually do it. Doing it in a low-pressure, no-consequence setting where you can fail “safely” gives you a great way to find out how you will perform when you face the real interviews. There is no doubt that candidates who practice with Mock interviews have a significantly higher chance of success that those who don’t.
Doing well in Mock interviews gets you higher confidence and lands you another step closer to your dream job !
How much experience should I have to take a Mock Interview ? What if i haven’t interviewed in a long time?
If you are ready to make a change or even if you just looking to sharpen your skills, you should take a shot at Mock Interviewing. One thing we hear a lot from our customers and other interviewees is how they were completely unaware of their blind spots! So please come by and we will connect you with a professional interviewer!
How can I be sure that i am talking to a real interviewer from that company?
Leave that to us, we do a full check on the interviewers before they are allowed as interviewers on our platform. We do a thorough verification & stand behind our filtering processes.
Will you share the identity of the interviewer’s?
Yes, if the interviewer does not object to it. We respect their privacy & right to remain anonymous.
What kind of questions can I expect?
We provide high level guidance to our carefully handpicked interviewers & then rely on them to select the best questions based on your experience level and expectations. What we can guarantee is the quality of the questions, their difficulty level and the quality of the feedback that you will receive at the end. We expect that the questions will be similar, both in subject matter and difficulty, to the kinds of questions you’d see in a real technical interview at a top company for a back-end or full-stack role.
What kind of feedback can I expect?
Ironically, In case of real interviews the feedback you get is almost never real, no recruiter wants to offend a candidate. You hear what they think you would like to hear. On our platform, you will hear how you truly did. If you screw up, our interviewers will tell you that, point blank, and then will give you detailed coaching, tips and written feedback to make you get better at the game. You are free to ask any and all questions which you always wanted to ask but didn’t know whom to ask ? E.g. We asked a recent interviewer what kind of questions he got at the end, and this is what the candidate had asked: “In a System design interview, How much time should i spend on API design? Should I implement the API’s / Pseudo-Code them or just define them? So on and so forth !
What is the difference between Project management Mock Interview versus the TPM / Program Management Interview?
Our platform offers two kinds of behavioral interviews: Project management (#2) and TPM / EM Behavioral (#3). In the Project management interview we focus on core skills required to deliver a project. It goes into details of program execution like having a vision / strategy, Program kick off, setting goals, tracking execution, tooling, wrapping up projects and more.
On the other hand, TPM|EM Behavioral mock focuses on a more overall and broader skill set required to effectively deliver large projects while working closely with cross functional partners. More specifically, it goes into more of leadership based skill sets like Strategic Influence, Prioritization, Conflict Resolution, Communication Strategy, Learning from failures, risk management, cross functional collaboration & more.
As an FYI, This article (https://stackinterview.com/product-vs-program-vs-project-manager/) explains in detail the difference between the three functions.
We currently do *not* offer Product Management Mock Interviews.
